EARTHWORK RECORDING STUDIO

"Art is choosing to do something skillfully, caring about the details, bringing all of yourself to make the finest work you can." - Rick Rubin
My recording journey began at age 15 on a four track Tascam tape recorder. In high school I recorded my own songs, in college I recorded friends, and in 2007 I turned my passion into a business. In the nearly 20 years since opening Earthwork I have worked with incredible artists, opened a music venue, launched an arts education nonprofit, and taught audio production at Denison University. The journey has led me full circle.
In 2025, I refocused all my energy to the studio with a mission to deepen my craft and create even better sounding records. My goal is to place the story and the artist's character at the forefront of the recording. A high level of communication, imagination, acoustics, mechanical expertise, musicianship, and software fluency are required to achieve this simple goal. To me, it's the greatest job in the world.
I look forward to hearing your story and playing a part in bringing your vision to the world.
